The Power of Music

I was surfing channels and finally settled in for a  T.V reality show which churns out the best singing talents of the nation.
The contestant which walked over to the stage was Autistic. He was accompanied by his Mom who walked alongside with hopes in her heart and dreams in her eyes for her dear son.
He starts singing and it all sounded so mesmerizing and magical and by the time he had finished singing, all the esteemed judges applauded him with a standing ovation.
This guy had such a beautiful God given gift. A voice ….a voice which could touch a 1000 hearts .
If you would have heard his voice over the radio , you would never even in your wildest dreams have guessed that this man was autistic.
I believe that Music has a lot of healing power, a power which is unsurpassed by even the most researched and developed medicines in the market. It awakens the deepest emotions from the farthest abyss of your soul.
Researchers and therapists say that music works by bypassing the brain’s damaged language centers and creating new pathways to the part of the brain that process music. It is the only experience that can activate every part of the brain.
This man has been learning music at a Music school and I guess by now Music had become his way of expression ,his way of life.
GB Shaw once said”Music infuses strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain, Life seems to go on without effort when I am filled with music.”
The above lines definitely held true for the young man who walked away
nonchalantly ,smiling to himself, unaware of how his voice had just enraptured the
audience in a way that only God’s own  one could .
